Domestic Water Softening Salt Products

Block Salt – Block salt is a type of water softening salt that comes in the form of solid blocks or bricks – hence the name. The blocks are made by compressing evaporated salt or a mixture of salt and additives into compact blocks making them convenient to handle and store. Block salt is suitable for use in water softeners designed specifically to accommodate this form of salt, they come ins pre formed shapes that fit itno the brine tank without the need for breaking or crushing.

Salt Tablets – Salt tablets are another form of solid water softening salt. Similar to block salt, they are also formed by compressing evaporated salt or a mixture of salt and additives into shaped forms. Salt tablets are dissolve gradually in water, providing a controlled release of salt into the brine tank during the regeneration process.

Granular Salt – Granular salt, or salt pellets can be described as small, irregularly shaped granules of salt. It is typically made by crushing evaporated salt or forming salt crystals through a crystallisation process. Granular salt is widely used in domestic water softeners and is available in various particle sizes depending on the requirements of your water softening system. Because is dissolves quickly in water, granular salt is great for efficient regeneration of the resin bed in water softeners.

Rock Salt – Rock salt is a natural form of salt that is mined from underground salt deposits or obtained through the evaporation of saltwater from salt lakes. Because of the natural forming process, rock salt resembles large chunks or crystals and may contain impurities such as clay, silt, and other minerals.
